All players must be 18 years of age or over and sign the team registration/indemnity form prior to taking the court at each game.
Teams may introduce new players throughout the rounds' games of the competition.
Teams may borrow players from other teams to make a full team during rounds' games ONLY IF the team can field enough of its own players to avoid a forfeit. A team may only use substitutes from another team to create a full team (not to provide subs).
New players may NOT be introduced during semi-finals and finals.
To be eligible to participate in semi-finals and finals, each player must have signed on and played at least one game for the team during the rounds' games.
Players may play for only one team during semi-finals and finals.
Competition Points
Win = 3 points
Draw = 2 points
Loss = 1 point
Forfeit = 0 points (opposing team will win 5 - 0)
Semis and Finals
Semis and final games will be scheduled for all teams; not just those in the Top Four.
1st plays 4th, 2nd plays 3rd in semis. In finals winners of both matches play for 1st and 2nd position. Runners up play off for 3rd position.
To be eligible for semis and finals players must have signed on and played during the rounds' games for their team.
If the result is a draw in semis and finals play Golden Goal. 3 minutes each way.
FUTSAL: If the score is still drawn after additional time there will be a penalty shoot out
NETBALL: If the score is still drawn after additional time, next goal wins. Centre pass will follow on from last whistle (ie whoever was to have next centre pass).

Team structure
Total players on court = 7
Maximum number of male players on the court = 3
A team may not have two males playing in the goal circle at the same time (GS/GA or GD/GK)
Forfeits
If a team cannot field 5 or more of their own registered players within 5 minutes of the scheduled starting time that team will forfeit the match. A social game may continue. Teams may borrow players 6 and 7 (from another registered team).
Uniform & Equipment
While it is not essential that teams have team shirts/uniforms for these competitions as bibs are supplied, if you are able to organise them it gives players more team spirit and sometimes an edge over your competitors.
A ball is provided at the venue for match use; with one warm up ball on hand.
Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times.
Jewellery must be removed or taped. Long nails must be cut or taped. If nails are still sharp despite being taped and the player does not wish to cut them, gloves must be worn. Due to Occupational Health and Safety concerns, Intrinsic Sports cannot supply gloves for players' use.
If players have visible piercings, these must be removed if possible. If it is not possible for such piercings to be removed, they must be taped to the satisfaction of the duty manager at the game, before the player may take to the court. The duty manager will take into account the possible danger of injury to any players on the court, including the player with the piercing. If the piercing has been taped, and the immediate risk to other players has been deemed to be eliminated, the player may take to the court with the awareness that they are accepting the risk of possible injury to themselves. If it is not possible to tape such a piercing that risk to players cannot be eliminated (e.g. sharp edges are present), the player will be excluded from the game.
Start of Play
The Centre must have ONE FOOT wholly within the centre circle
The other players must stand in the goal third which is part of their area of play. The opposing centre may move freely in the centre third.
The centre pass must be touched by a player wholly within the centre third.
Over a Third
The ball may not be thrown over a complete third without being touched or caught by a player who is wholly in that third.
Short Pass
At the moment the ball is released there must be room for a third player to move between the hands of the thrower and receiver.
Offside
A player with or without the ball is offside when they are in a playing area other than that of their designated position.
A player in possession of the ball may lean on the ball in an offside area.
Out of Court
The ball is out of court when it touches the ground, an object or person outside the court
The ball is out of court when held by a player in contact with the ouside of the court or an object or person outside the court.
A Throw in is awarded to the opposing team. The player taking the throw in must ensure that all players are on court before taking the throw in, throw the ball within 3 seconds, not enter the court and not step offside when taking a throw in.
Umpires will NOT blow their whistle when it is clear that the ball is out of court.
Stoppages
Play may be stopped because of injury or illness when time is called for by an on court player. The decision for play to stop is at the discretion of the umpire.
If a player is bleeding, and no on court player has called time, the umpire may stop play. The player in question must leave the court until bleeding has stopped or been dressed.
Footwork
A player in possession of the ball may not: drag or slide their landing foot, hop on either foot, jump from both feet and land on both feet unless the ball has been released before landing or lift and replace the landing foot.
Obstruction
The defending player's closest foot must be greater than three feet (0.9m) from the landed foot of the player in possession of the ball.
A player may not defend a player from off the court.
A defending player may not leave the court to defend a player who has left the court.
When defending a player without the ball the defending player may not take the arms away from the body other than that in natural body stance.
Contact
No player may contact an opponent either accidentally or deliberately in such a way that it interferes with the play of that opponent or causes contact to occur.
A player shall not force contact by moving into the path of an opponent who is commited to a landing space.
A player may not position themselves so closely to their opponent, that the opponent is unable to move without contacting.
Players may not contact the ball while an opponent is in possession of the ball.
Replay
A player may play at the ball once in an uncontrolled manner and then catch the ball or direct the ball to another player
A player may not bat or bounce the ball in a controlled manner and then gain possession of the ball.
A player may gain or regain control of the ball if it rebounds from the goal post.
The players will abide by the umpire’s ruling at all times.
FUTSAL RULES
Uniforms and Equipment
All team players should wear identical coloured tops. Goalie should be in different stripe. If opposing teams have same coloured tops, bibs are provided and a coin toss will decide who wears the bibs.
A ball is provided at each venue for match use, and a warm up ball.
Shin pads are also highly recommended but not compulsory.
No watches are to be worn. Other jewellery to be removed at the request of duty managers / referees.
Prescription glasses only to be worn, but must be fitted with plastic lenses or covered with sports goggles; contact lenses are preferable if possible.
EYEGLASSES: Please note that only approved sports glasses/goggles may be worn. Contact lenses are strongly recommended.
Forfeits
(5 a side) If a team cannot field 4 or more players within 5 minutes of the scheduled game start time then the team will forfeit. A friendly game may continue, with the result shown as a 5-0 forfeit win to the non offending team. If playing with 4 players, a maximum of 3 males, and minimum of 1 female may be on court.

Wet Weather
Wet weather rain outs will be rescheduled.
If a match is abandoned prior to half-time (due to rain or safety issues with the field of play), the match will be rescheduled for play later in the season.
If a match is abandoned after half-time (due to rain or safety issues with the field of play), the match will be deemed to have been played, and the score at the time of abandonment, will stand.
Substitution/Interchange
Players may substitute/interchange at any time during the match providing it does not interfere with play. There is no limit to the number of substitutions that can be made and the referee does not need to be informed.
Red / Yellow Cards
Referees will carry red / yellow cards. At the discretion of the referee, and depending on the infringement, a red card will carry a one-match suspension.
As per FIFA rules, if a player has been red-carded, he/she may not re-enter the play, however after 2 minutes (or if a goal is scored prior to 2 minutes), a substitute player may take to the court in the red-carded player's place. However, this substitute player must be a member of the red-carded player's regular team (not a player borrowed from another team).
Playing Rules:
All kick-ins, goal clearances, corner kicks and free kicks have a four second time limit
Slide tackles are illegal and will result in a direct free kick to the non offending team
If a goalkeeper saves the ball he/she may move outside of the penalty area whilst the ball is at his/her feet and they have a four second time limit in possession of the ball(after passing halfway line, no time limit)
If a goalkeeper saves the ball he/she may either kick, punt or throw the ball out of the area(if they wish to play the ball out themselves they may but he/she must either release the ball or cross halfway within four seconds)
All fouls are punished by either a indirect free kick or a direct free kick (yellow and red cards will be produced at referees discretion)
The goalkeeper may not pick up a ball directly passed to him/her by a teammate (otherwise an indirect free kick will be awarded to the non offending team)
The ball cannot be played by a player whilst he/she is on the ground
If the ball hits the roof it is an indirect free kick to the non offending team
If the ball comes into contact with the basketball rings it is a goal clearance
No player can touch the ball with their hands whilst the ball is in play except the goalkeeper in their penalty area. An accidental handball will result in an indirect free kick and a deliberate handball will result in a direct free kick to the non offending team.
For the 6th and subsequent team fouls in each half of a match, a 10m penalty will be awarded.
Substitutions:
Unlimited interchange is allowed
Substitutions must be made in the team's defensive half, approximately 5 metres from the half way line. The substitute may not enter the court until the player they are replacing has left the court.
The goalkeeper may be changed by way of a flying substitution (sub with a bench player only). Time is not stopped and the referee must be notified of the change.

A kickoff is a way of starting or restarting play:
All players shall be in their own half of the field
The opponents of the team taking the kick off must be at least 5 metres from the ball until it has been played(otherwise the kick will be retaken)
The ball shall be stationary on the centre marking
The ball shall be deemed in play once it has been kicked and moves forward
The kicker may not touch the ball for a second time before it has been touched
The players will abide by the referee’s ruling at all times.
